Suitably Satanic.

I've been re-introducing myself recently with a few favourites. Glyn Smyth, better know as 'Scrawled' has always been a huge inspiration in what kind of an artist i aspire to be and his process, an obvious infuence over my work.

 I may have even indulged in one of his newest pieces 'The Tallest Forest', black ink on cairn vanilla board, artpress.

I Love Grey Skies.

I stumbed across this blog/etsy shop late last light. Ran by a girl named 'Kimberly' since 2008, this low key but wonderfully imaginative site hosts an array of fragile little creatues that can be adopted at a very reasonable price. Very Lord Whitney-esque! Not only that but the same artist has recently started another site named Herman Marie where her love for bright colours and fun comes in to play.

A New Muse...

So over summer i've managed to build myself a nice little collection of books by a wonderful man named Jeffrey Brown. This is my most current amusement... 'Cat Getting Out Of A Bag'. He's the perfect accompaniment to our summer project for quick sketches of play by play scenes, since a lot of his work consists of very quick and comic-like drawings.

You can check out his work here. Other books i'd reccomend would include 'I Am Going To Be Small' (ironic for me really...) and 'Unlikely'.

Whilst browsing for more Jeff Browns on the messy shelves of Travelling Man I found a book called 'I Never Liked You' by a chap called Chester Brown, which lends the same style to tell much darker stories in a very bleak, minimilistic way. If you happen to like Jeffrey Brown, check out Chester Brown, although 'I Never Liked You' isn't for those easily upset.

Summer, Minus The Sunshine.

So apart from the fact i've worked almost every day this summer, i completely forgot to update this blog since my Tumblr account is my main focus.
